“Board approves MANDATORY WATER RESTRICTIONS”

Bowling Green – At its July 13, 2010 meeting, the Caroline County Board of Supervisors approved a Water Restriction Policy, and authorized implementation of Level 3 of that policy. Restrictions are needed to conserve water in response to the recent drought like conditions.

Effective immediately, all customers of the County water system are asked to observe the following water conservation measures:

Vehicle Washing
Hand wash only with a bucket for windows, mirrors, lights and spot removing corrosive substances. Commercial Car washing is permitted.

Cleaning Paved Areas
Banned, unless required for health and safety reasons

Pools and Spas
New pools or spas cannot be filled. Existing pools and spas can only be filled with a bucket filled directly from a tap. Filling existing pools and spas above 1,000 gallons requires permission from Public Utilities

Watering of Lawns & Gardens
No watering lawns. Hand-held or manual dripper system on gardens only on Wednesdays and/or Sundays for odd street numbers and on Tuesdays and/or Saturdays for even street numbers.

All conservation measures are mandatory.
